Michael’s always been obssessed with creating visuals. He was one of those kids that was always drawing, painting, and crafting. There was no better way to spend his time then developing an idea into an artwork.
At secondary school he studied media, and he made his first video. The creative decisions seemed endless, combining visual with audio, layering dialogue with music and sound effects. Planning, storyboarding, directing, editing - he loved it. Creating content enabled him to supercharge art with emotion.
Filled with enthusiam, he studied ‘Media Practice and Theory’, at the University of Sussex, earning a first-class honours and degree. His graduation project into an won ‘Best Documentary’ at London Independent Film Festival in 2014. At just 21, he sold footage of his documentary to the BBC.
In 2013, he entered the media industry, experiencing production and post-production roles at TV and digital companies. He learned nearly all the steps necessary for making videos. From researching locations, searching for talent, developing treatments, assisting on set with small crews - filming, recording audio, lighting, directing. He worked in post-production too. Starting from the bottom and working his way up.
