Ever wondered where House Music got its name? 🏠🎶

It all traces back to Importes, Etc., a legendary Chicago record store opened in 1981 by Paul Weisberg — a former DJ at the Playboy Club. The shop was a goldmine for dance music and quickly became the spot for DJs, especially those from Chicago’s gay club scene.

DJs spinning at The Warehouse would grab their records there — and soon, people started calling those tracks Warehouse Music.

Over time, that simply became: House Music. And the rest is history. 📀
